Tijuania Bigley Hensen, 56, dedicated nurse

Tijuania Bigley Henson, 56, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2016.

She was born in Bethesda, Maryland on Jan. 19, 1960. Her parents were Gerald Patrick Bigley and Evelene Sholar Bigley.

Tijuania was a dedicated registered nurse and worked at Huntington Health Care in Burgaw.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Lee Hansen; one son, Gerald Lee Hansen; two daughters, Heather Bigley Walcott and Crystal Gail Hansen; brother, Gerald Patrick Bigley Jr.; sisters, Mary Bigley Mical and Debra Bigley Murray; 10 grandchildren; stepmother, Barbara Bigley; stepbrothers, Mark and Paul Jones; stepsisters, Sandi Macon and Kathi Neighbors; many nieces and nephews; and special longtime friend Lisa Taylor.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Alisha Porterfield. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial gift to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Foundation. Tijuania was passionate about supporting all health care organizations.
