Charles “Chuck” Ashley Hudson, 45, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 29, 1970 in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Chuck was known best for his dedication and love for music. While here in the Port City of Wilmington, he played drums for over 25 local bands and had been instrumental in the field of sound engineering for events. He owned and operated his own company Sound Chuck Audio, which afforded him the ability to give the bands around town a fantastic stage presence.
Chuck loved the Carolina Panthers, playing and listening to the music of the Grateful Dead, camping and canoeing, and most of all spending time in the company of loving family and devoted friends. His passion for all things music and wonderful spirit will be deeply missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory and musical legacy are his mother, Caroland Hudson McFarlane and husband Larry; father, Dwight Harrod; brothers, Nick and Devin McFarlane; sister, Tracy Harrod; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at St. Mary Catholic Church on Ann Street in downtown Wilmington. A reception will follow at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Dr. Andrew Screiber for their fantastic care of Charles during his illness.
Please leave online condolences for the family at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation Service.
