Wayne Victor Venters II, of Wilmington, died peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 31, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center of congestive heart and renal failure.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1936, the son of the late Katherine Cole and Wayne Victor Venters, and was a native of Richlands.
He graduated from Richlands High School in 1954 and UNC-Chapel Hill in 1958 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
Vic is survived by his wife, Jane Bellamy Venters; three sons, Wayne Victor Venters III and his wife, Leigh, Marsden Bellamy Venters and John Snyder Venters, all of Wilmington; and beloved grandson, Victor Ian Venters and granddaughter, Arrington B. Allen Bushey of Del Ray Beach, Florida. Also surviving is a brother, Dr. George V. Venters and his wife, Nickye, of Raleigh.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronald G. Abrams officiating. Immediately following the graveside service, the family will receive friends in the great hall at St. James Parish.
