
Roy Lee Davis, 60, of Wilmington passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, surrounded by family after a sudden illness at his home.
Roy was born on Dec. 8, 1955 in Jacksonville, son of the Late Odis George Davis and Alma Westbrook Davis. He is also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Roy enjoyed fishing, bowling, Duke, NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt and football, especially the Green Bay Packers.
Roy is survived by his brother, Kirby and his wife Joann Porter of Wilmington; sister, Gloria and her husband Robert Eldridge of Rockford, Illinois; brother, Lloyd and his wife Judy Davis of Smithfield; sister Mary and her husband William Huff of Castle Hayne; and sister Kathy and her husband Danny Rackley of Wilmington. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Randall Smith and Judy Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC, 28412.
