Andrea Jane Dayton Fisher, 76, of Hampstead, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 1, 1939 in Rockland County, New York, the daughter of the late Gilbert Dayton and Janice Felt Dayton.
Andrea graduated from Rockland Community College in New York with a degree in nursing. She later put this into practice, working for Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey, the American Red Cross in the community and as a past member of the Glen Rock, New Jersey Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Later, she and Bill moved to Hampstead, where she was the past president of the Hampstead Garden Club and on the board of the Hampstead Library.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 52 years, Bill Fisher of the home; son, James Fisher and wife Joan of Glen Rock, New Jersey; daughter, Betsy Schuh and husband Chris of Edmonds, Washington; grandchildren, Luke, Kyle and Bryce Fisher and Andrew “Brody” Schuh; step-grandchildren, Jessica and Kyle Schuh; two sisters, Sally Scott of Florida and Billie-Jo Viteychuk of Texas and numerous other loving family and friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
