Ruth Thompson Lee, 85, of Wilmington and formerly of Hampstead, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Lee was born in Onslow County to the late Johnnie Askew and Emma Davis. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Lee.
Survivors include a son, Dwight Lee of Leland; daughters Linda Batson and husband Joseph of Surf City, Shirley Lee Brant of Hampstead, Vickie Lee Peretic of Raleigh and Brenda Lee Hales and husband Harvey of Wilmington; a brother, Ronald Thompson of Belgrade; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Thompson, of Castle Hayne; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private service.
