Gretchen Fran Bartels, 56, of Carolina Beach, died on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at her residence.
Born in Sioux Center, Iowa, on Feb. 14, 1959, she was the daughter of Peter and stepmother Louise Bartels of Medina, Washington.
Ms. Bartels was self employed as a medical coder.
She was preceded in death by her mother Dawn (Van Beek) Bartels.
She is survived by her daughter Erin Bartels of Mechanicville, New York; and two brothers, Brandon Bartels of Seattle, Washington and Jeremy Bartels of Kirkland, Washington.
A memorial service will be held in Medina, Washington at the convenience of the family.
