Joseph Leon Howard, 47, of Leland, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2015.
Joe was born on Sept. 26, 1968 in Kinston. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Howard.
Joe was the owner of Howard’s Plumbing Service.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Star Moore Howard; three children, Winter Lofaro and husband Andrew, Bobby Howard and wife Morgan, and Jordan Howard; five grandchildren, Avery, Mylan, Trenton, Ellis and Colt; his mother, Shirley Head and stepfather, Jimmy Head; brothers, Richard Howard and wife Della, James Howard and Christopher Howard; sister, Shirley (Bunny) Jones and husband Steven; stepbrother, Jimmy (Pedrew) Head and wife Lynn; and stepsister, Wanda Smith and husband Zeb.
Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at Elah Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1527 Old Fayetteville Rd, Leland, NC 28451, with interment at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.
Pallbearers were close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Community United Effort (CUE), P.O. Box 12714 Wilmington, NC 28405 to aid in the search for missing persons.
