Stanley Fred Miller, of St. James, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at the age of 82.
Mr. Miller was born Dec. 30, 1932, son of the late Harold Miller and Mary Theresa DePuy Miller. He joined the National Guard and served for 15 years. Mr. Miller retired from NJ Bell/Verizon in 1986 and relocated to Southport in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, swimming in the ocean and loved the NY Giants football team.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joan Kirchhoff Miller, of St. James; children, Marianne Vogt and husband Bill, of Bolivia, Mark Miller and wife Angela, of Arizona and Matt and wife Gayle, of New Jersey; grandchildren, Dan, Chris, Adam, John, Allyson and Kevin; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Cole, Paige, Major, Elle and Navy.
A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Trent Watts officiating. Inurnment will take place at the church columbarium.
