Gloria Jean Gentile, 70, of Wilmington, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born December 24, 1944, in Long Beach, California. Gloria was preceded in death by her father, John Edward Hankla, and her brother, Danny Hankla.
She was a hardworking homemaker and taught Sunday school for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Anthony “Tony” Gentile, Jr.; daughter, Kristine Danielle Harris and husband Harvey; son, Marcus Anthony Gentile and wife Patty; grandchildren, Thomas and Kaleigh Vangritis, Miles Harris, Joshua and Amelie Gentile; great-grandchildren, Jade and Christian Meeks and Rylan Vangritis; mother, Arlene Hammond Hankla and a sister, Linda Goodrich.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Federal Point Cemetery in Carolina Beach.
