Sammy D. Horrell, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at Brunswick Cove Living Center. He was 68.
He was born in Wilmington on Jan. 12, 1947.
Sammy was a retired car and truck salesman in Wilmington.
He is survived by his mother, Elma Herring Horrell Boone; sons, Jeff Horrell and Phillip Horrell; daughters, Sarah Horrell and Sadie Horrell; sister, Diane Summers; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Horrell and a brother, Larry Horrell.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, 23rd Street and Brandon Avenue, Wilmington.
