Kathryn Taimanglo, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 44.
She was born Sept. 26, 1970, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ronald K. Autrey and Elizabeth Battle Autrey.
Kathryn grew up in Charlotte and moved to the little town of Wilmington 15 years ago. She devoted her life to raising her family, creating a small business and rescuing animals in need. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and with family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Stefen Taimanglo; children, Brandon, Sarah and Kaili; father, Ronald Kenneth Autrey; mother, Elizabeth Battle Autrey; sisters, Elizabeth Blair Autrey and Carolyn Blythe Autrey Thompson; nephew, Tristan Thompson; canine companions, Big Jack and Kola; and numerous other loving family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
