Betty “Jean” Stewart Moore, of Shallotte, died Sunday Nov. 3, 2013, at SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice Brunswick House, Bolivia. She was 72 years old.
She was born in Johnston County on Aug. 9, 1941 and was preceded in death by William Franklin Stewart, Sr. and Katie Jane Anderson Stewart; loving husband, Willie Hayden Moore in 2011; brothers, Alfred D. “Al” Stewart and Johnny Stewart; and sister, Bernice Wadsworth.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Natalie Moore Skipper (David) of Shallotte; brother, Frank Stewart (Mable) of Selma; sisters, Dorothy Godwin of Selma and Joyce Strickland (Bill) of Selma; grandchildren that were near and dear to her heart, Kasie Rhae Skipper and fiancée Ryan Blindauer and Jamison Cody Skipper (Emily); great-grandchild, Emie Lou Skipper; special canine friend, “Putter” and a multitude of extended family.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. immediately afterwards at Brunswick Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jason L. Benton.
