Judy Ann Loflin, 61

Judy Ann Loflin spent a majority of her life making sure those around her were well fed.

She worked for many years at Kirby’s Steak House in Shallotte, was the cafeteria manager at Union Elementary School, assisted with many area food banks at various churches to help the needy and owned a catering business with her husband, Huey.

On Sept. 13, 2013, at the age of 61, Mrs. Loflin died.

A saint in her own way, Mrs. Loflin and her husband performed a music ministry as “The Loflins” at many churches and nursing homes. She was a member of Unity Worship Church.

She was born in Guilford County on May 26, 1952, the daughter of James Mark Flannery of Denton and the late Ruby Russ Flannery.

Survivors in addition to her father include her husband, Huey Loflin; her children: Pebbles Sigmon and husband Kent of Shallotte, Christopher Norris of Denton, Jeff Loflin and wife Sandra of Thomasville, Belinda Jones and husband Jack of Winston-Salem, Julia and Patrick Sannivang of Star; sisters: Lesia McDaniel of Thomasville, Virginia Doed of Trinity; and brothers, Jack Flannery and Roby Flannery and wife Wendy of Thomasville. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 11 eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and very close friends.

Services celebrating Mrs. Loflin’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 21, at United Vision Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Maurice Milligan, the Rev. Jim Taylor, the Rev. Tom Stephenson and the Rev. James Flowers officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to SECU Hospice House, Brunswick Facility, or the Unity Worship Center Food Bank.
