
WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old male Monday.
Shortly after 6 p.m. WPD officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 800 block of Emory Street. According to WPD, they located a 20-year-old male victim in the area, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported by EMS to Novant regional medical center in critical condition.
Investigators are on scene, and this is an active investigation.
The WPD is encouraging anyone with information to call 910-343-3600 or report anonymously on the Tip 411 app.
