16 and 19-year-old in custody after shootings

Frank Grisset. (WPD)

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department has arrested two young males after officers found firearms and evidence of two different shootings.

The arrests came after officers conducted a search warrant on Feb. 1 in the 1900 block of Gufford Drive in Vesta Village and located evidence of the shooting including firearms. Earlier in the day, WPD officers had responded to the 600 block of Bunting Drive in Vesta Village to the report of a ShotSpotter activation, finding evidence of a shooting.

A two-week investigation by WPD Gun Crimes Unit detectives revealed that the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone wrong.

On Feb. 18 detectives arrested 19-year-old Frank Grisset for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, seven counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, delivery of a handgun to a minor, and discharging firearm in the city limits.
