BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The sheriffs office is hosting an event in February to allow for proper and safe disposal of medications that have expired or are no longer needed.
Anyone can bring their prescribed or over-the-counter meds to the American Legion Post 503 (10277 Beach Dr.) in Calabash on Feb. 9, 9 a.m. to noon.
Drugs not properly disposed of may end up in the wrong hands or in the water system, a notice from the Brunswick County government notes.
The event is being hosted by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Brunswick County Health Services, Coastal Horizons and American Legion.
