The North Carolina Department of Transportation has suspended projects this weekend, ahead of heavy travel for the New Year’s holiday.

Major construction will halt the morning of Dec. 31 through the evening of January 3. According to the department, some work will continue as long as it does not affect travel lanes. Some long-term lane closures also may remain in place on select projects.

Real time info on closures and traffic can be accessed here.
