WILMINGTON — A man was sent to the hospital Thursday with non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed.
The Wilmington Police Department responded to the 6900 block of Market Street in response to a reported stabbing around 7 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found one male victim suffering from injuries; he was sent to New Hanover Regional Medical Center by EMS.
The suspect, 24-year-old Jonathan Cook from Wilmington, was taken into custody shortly after. Cook is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and is being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. Bond information is not available at this time.
WPD reports this is an isolated incident and an ongoing investigation.
