WILMINGTON — Construction at North 23rd Street is causing the temporary closure of a portion of the road to traffic in both directions. Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is restoring the asphalt following a pipe repair.
Crews are working on the 0 to 100 block of North 23rd after an emergency water main repair was completed overnight.
The street will be closed for about four hours, until roughly 2 p.m., in both directions between Market Street and Chestnut Street while work is underway.
Eastbound traffic should detour around the closure using North 17th Street to Chestnut Street. Westbound traffic should detour using Kenwood Avenue to Chestnut Street.
Local traffic can still access the area if needed.
