Grant applications open for free tickets to Wilson Center shows

WILMINGTON — Private donors to Wilson Center’s Broadway for a Better World initiative paves the way for underserved areas of the New Hanover County population to enjoy professional theater.

Twice a year, its grant program — administered by the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County — opens applications for organizations and Cape Fear Community College students to receive free tickets to shows at Wilson Center. The applications are open now and close Jan. 20, 2023 for the spring season.

Tickets are given to the PNC Broadway, Stars Series, and Wonder Series.

Broadway for a Better World launched in 2017 and has granted over 1,300 tickets to underserved youth through 15 nonprofit community organizations and local schools.
