Two suspects arrested in armed robbery of gas station

WILMINGTON — Early Monday morning, two people were arrested for the armed robbery of a gas station on Carolina Beach Road.

The incident took place near 3 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at 2395 Carolina Beach Rd.

Wilmington Police Department noted officers responded to the call of an armed robbery. A victim at the Speedway located at the intersection of Medical Center Drive and Carolina Beach Road recounted and confirmed the events to the officers.  

Not long after hearing the victim’s statement, law enforcement located the suspect vehicle in the 300 block of South College Road and made an arrest.

Wilmington resident Timothy Jones, 55-years-old, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny. He is being held at the NHCSO Detention Center with a $350,000 secured bond.

Also arrested was Tameika Conyers, 38-years-old of Wilmington. She has been charged with robbery of a dangerous weapon and is at NHCSO Detention Center with a $100,00 secured bond.
