Audi matches donations to Good Shepherd for Giving Tuesday

WILMINGTON — Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving encouraging individuals to donate time and money to charities, such as Good Shepherd. Audi Cape Fear awarded the nonprofit, which assists the unsheltered population with shelter and services, a match of up to $5,000 to support its Giving Tuesday campaign this year.

Audi Cape Fear will match all funds raised by Good Shepherd and donations will be used to support men, women, families with children, veterans, seniors and those with special needs to return to housing of their own in time for the holidays.

“The average cost to house a homeless individual or family with children is $4,000,” Good Shepherd Executive Director Katrina Knight said in a press release. “We are deeply grateful to Audi Cape Fear for partnering with Good Shepherd on this important initiative. Their support allows us to continue to provide intensive case management and supportive services necessary not only to rehouse our guests but to ensure they remain housed for the long term.”

The nonprofit’s 2022 campaign, GIVE, highlights the need to provide comfort, hope, stability and peace for neighbors in the community. Donations this year will double the impact due to Audi’s offer.
