2023 Freeman Park permits available starting Dec. 1

CAROLINA BEACH — Annual permits go on sale for Freeman Park starting next month.

On Dec. 1, individuals can begin to purchase 2023 annual permits for Freeman Park, 1818 Canal Drive in Carolina Beach. If bought by Dec. 31, the pass is discounted and sold for $110. In-person purchases may be made using cash or card.

Passes can be purchased at:

  • Town of Carolina Beach Parking Office: 1708 Canal Drive, Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; after Jan. 1, 2023, hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Carolina Beach Town Hall: 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd., Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Effective Jan. 1, annual permits will be sold at the full price of $225 and can be purchased in person at the above locations or online. Online purchases must still be picked up in person at 1708 Canal Drive. Receipts alone will not be valid for entry.

Non-refundable annual permits are valid from the date purchased through 2023. If bought prior to Jan. 1, they also allow entry to Freeman Park through the remainder of 2022.

All passes must be permanently affixed to the driver’s side of a four-wheel drive vehicle, and old ones need to be removed.

Daily passes are also available at the entrance of Freeman Park using a 24-hour pay station. Price for day-use, which ends at 10 p.m., is $50 April through September and $30 October through March.
