According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the world’s largest food and beverage company has issued a voluntary recall for its ready-to-bake stuffed cookie products.
Nestlé USA warns customers of the potential presence of white plastic found in its stuffed chocolate chip cookie dough with fudge filling — no other cookie products are impacted by the foreign material. The products were sold between June and September 2022 and distributed in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Consumers brought the problem to Nestlé’s attention, according to a release from the FDA. There have been no injuries or illnesses reported.
“We are working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on this voluntary recall and will cooperate with them fully,” the company noted in a release. “The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our number one priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers.”
Anyone who has purchased the ready-to-bake dough should return it to the retailer for replacement or refund. Nestlé can be contacted Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at (800) 681-1676.
