BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Starting Monday, a bridge in Bolivia will be closed, causing traffic to detour around the area.
North Carolina Department of Transportation crews will replace the aging bridge, located on N.C. 906 (Midway Road SE) near U.S. 17, just south of Bolivia. Construction will be ongoing through Memorial Day 2023.
When complete, the new structure will have wider lanes.
Over the next six months, drivers should avoid the area and take alternate routes via Green Lewis Road and McKay Road.
