‘The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat’ seeking extras for local filming

WILMINGTON — A locally filmed production is looking for Black individuals to serve as extras during a day of shooting next week.

TW Cast and Talent is seeking extras ages 18 to 30s for “The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat,” filming on Oct. 14. The roles range from college partiers to diner patrons in the late 1960s and all applicants must be available for a costume fitting early next week, Oct. 10 or Oct. 11.

Anyone looking to participate must have natural hair (no dye jobs or modern styles, to be styled for the era booked) or be able to wear a period-appropriate wig. Applicants must submit accurate measurements in the extras database when applying.

The standard pay for background extras on the film is $115 for 10 hours and time-and-a-half for every excess hour. Anyone who is booked must be Covid vaccinated and boosted and receive a mandatory Covid test prior to any fittings and again, prior to any filming dates.

Extras will receive $80 per Covid test taken and at minimum, $20 per fitting.

“The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat” is written and directed by Tina Mabry (“Mississippi Damned”) and follows three best friends dubbed “The Supremes.” They have weathered life’s storms together for two generations through marriage and children and find their paths at a crossroads that will test their bond.

The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name, written by Edward Kelsey Moore in 2013 and takes place in the mid-1950s into the late 1990s.

Available roles for extras include college girls, frat guys, college partygoers, pedestrians, diner patrons and diner workers.
