Woman charged with possession following traffic stop by WPD

Niquasia Simpson, 23

WILMINGTON — One woman was charged with possession of drugs and paraphernalia Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the Wilmington Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Wooster Street. After searching 23-year-old Niquasia Simpson’s care, officers found marijuana and Xanax.

Simpson was taken into custody and charged with Possession Schedule IV, Possession Schedule VI, Possession Drug Paraphernalia and Pre-Trial Release Violation. She was given a $250,000 secured bond and is being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
