Officers searching for driver who struck a female in hit-and-run

WILMINGTON — Officers are asking the public to help locate a black sedan that was involved in a hit and run over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, just before 3 a.m., a female passenger fell from her vehicle and was struck by a car in the eastbound lanes of Market Street, Wilmington Police Department. A black sedan hit the victim in the 5500 block and fled the scene.

Transported to the Novant-New Hanover Regional Medical Center, the female sustained life-threatening injuries but is reported to be in stable condition. 

WPD is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 910-343-3609 or send a message to 847411 using the keyword “WPDNC.” The public can also use the Tip 411 app.
