Midtown road to close overnight Thursday for CFPUA

WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will have to make a water main repair that will leave a portion of South Kerr Avenue closed overnight Thursday.

Crews are set to repair a water main around 7 p.m. on Aug. 18. It will in turn cause the the southbound and center lanes of South Kerr to be closed to traffic between Wrightsville and Park avenues for eight hours.

Both lanes of Park will close from South Kerr Avenue to South 44th Street.

Though northbound traffic on South Kerr will not be impacted, there will be a detour via Wrightsville for southbound traffic to South College Road and South 44th Street.

All residents in the areas will still be allowed to get through the areas of the closures.

There is no anticipation for water disruptions in the area, CFPUA stated.
