ROCKY POINT — A new principal will take the helm at Heide Trask High School, as staff is shuffled around in the Pender County School system.
Gene (Tony) Hudson will fill the Rocky Point vacancy left by Michael Taylor, who accepted the position as chief officer of auxiliary services. Hudson was approved by the school board Aug. 9 and will assume his role immediately.
Hudson has been with the school district since 2005 when he signed on as a teacher and assistant coach at Heide Trask. Most recently, he was the principal at West Pender Middle School. The search for his replacement is underway.
A graduate of Wofford College, Hudson earned his master of school administration from East Carolina University in 2017.
