Brunswick Little Theatre launches apprenticeship program

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A local theatre company has launched a nine-month initiative aimed to help actors strengthen musical performances.

Brunswick Little Theatre’s musical theatre apprentice is a course for students ages 11 through 18 who will be coached in vocal technique, stage movement, acting, and improvisation. The class is small, limited to 18, and taught by Bev Veenker, Professor Emeritus, Western Kentucky University, and Deborah Skillman, MM, East Carolina University, and NBPTS.

It will begin after Labor Day on Saturdays, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and end mid-May with a showcase review. Class size is limited to 18 and the semester fee is $125. Registration closes on Aug. 31; contact Debbie Skillman at dskillman@ec.rr.com or 910-470-5652.
