
WILMINGTON — A person trying to intervene in an altercation Thursday morning got injured in the process and the assailant was arrested.
The Wilmington Police Department responded to two men fighting near the 200 block of Chesnut Street around 6:53 a.m.
A third person tried to step in and was cut in the process. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Calvin Otto Pigotte, 57, is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is being held at the NHCSO Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
