Two people arrested on multiple drug charges after traffic stop

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department arrested two people Thursday after conducting a traffic stop in the 4600 block of Market Street.

Just before 11 p.m., officers searched a vehicle after pulling over 32-year-old Laura Burns, who was driving. Law enforcement found a hand gun, 20 grams of crystal meth, crack pipes, a chore boy, Xanax, and two additional bags of methamphetamine.

Officers arrested the passenger, 38-year-old James Christianson for firearm by felon, CCW, PWISD schedule II, two charges of possession schedule II, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held without bond.

Burns was charged with possession schedule IV, possession of drug paraphernalia, fictitious registration, and no operators license. She received a $1,500 secured bond.

Both are being held at NHCSO Detention Center.
