WILMINGTON — A TV production is planning to capture explosion and burning scenes next week in Wilmington.
Starz has taken out a film permit with the City of Wilmington to shoot Thursday and Friday at 216 Southern Blvd., the address of Southern Suds Laundromatic.
According to the permits, in the scene, the characters are fighting at an abandoned building and an explosion ensues, with “building pieces” flying out of windows. The simulated explosion will take place Friday between 10:00 p.m. and 4 a.m.
Crews will place propane fire bars inside and outside the building and propane mortars behind the windows and door to “create a fireball.” It is putting pyrotechnic charge in the glass to break on cue.
Special effects technicians will feed the fire bars with propane bottles. There will also be a qualified medic and stunt supervisor on set, the permit details.
The shoot will take five cast members, five extras and 100 crew members.
