Wilmington man arrested in connection to Tuesday’s fatal shooting

WILMINGTON — Wilmington Police Department has named the suspect and victim of a shooting Tuesday night in the 400 block of Davie Drive.

Kevin Faircloth, 26, was shot around 9:30 p.m. EMS transported him to Novant Health, where he succumbed to his injuries.

“Just hours” later, Kevin Mullen, 32, was taken into custody. He is charged with voluntary manslaughter and firearm by a felon, according to WPD. Mullen is at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond.
