Man arrested in connection to Red Cross Street shooting

WILMINGTON — An arrest has been made in connection to a Wilmington shooting earlier this month on Red Cross Street.

Charles Gilbert Green, 28, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office took the Leland man into custody, Wilmington Police Department announced Tuesday. He is now at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bond.

One person was injured in the shooting, which took place Apr. 2 around 1:30 p.m. The victim was transported by EMS to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

WPD’s Criminal Investigation Division is still investigating the incident.
