First responders searching for man who jumped in CF River

UPDATE: Crews halted the search around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night and noted it would resume Wednesday.

WILMINGTON — According to the Wilmington Police Department, a search is underway for a man who jumped into the Cape Fear River Tuesday.

A release from WPD notes officers and fire department crews are at Market and Water streets in downtown Wilmington trying to locate the man. “Units are actively searching at this time,” the release stated, also indicating there is no further information available.

PCD will update with more information as it becomes available.
