CB skate park reopens after weekend vandalism

CAROLINA BEACH — After closing on Sunday and Monday, the Carolina Beach Parks and Recreation department announced an area of Mike Chappell Park reopened Tuesday.

The skate park was vandalized over the weekend, according to the department’s social media post Sunday. Crews were cleaning up vulgarities and graffiti throughout the area before opening back to the public. The skate park reopened at 2 p.m. on Mar. 29.

Officials ask anyone with information about the vandalization to contact the Carolina Beach Police Department at 910-458-2540.
