Wilson Center to showcase acclaimed Jazz at Lincoln Center

WILMINGTON — Downtown’s Wilson Center will be welcoming world-renowned Jazz at the Lincoln Center as part of its 2022-2023 season.

The group will come through town Mar. 13, 2023, 7:30 p.m., performing “Songs We Love.” Jazz at Lincoln Center is overseen by managing and artistic director Wynton Marsalis — an American trumpeter who has won nine Grammys. The group focuses on the preservation and education of jazz as an art form, by continuing to produce concerts, international tours, residencies, programs on radio and TV, and more.

“Songs We Love,” led by musical director Riley Mulherkar, features vocalists and an all-star band playing through blues and jazz from the 1920s through the 1950s. It will feature songs by Ma Rainey, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland.

Tickets go on sale to the public Wednesday, Mar. 30, at 10 a.m. online. The box office will open in-person at 2 p.m.
