Sheriff’s office concludes two methamphetamine investigations resulting in arrests

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The sheriff’s office made three drug-related arrests over the last week that concluded two methamphetamine investigations.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office’s vice and narcotics unit stopped a vehicle traveling from South Carolina to New Hanover on Feb. 9. They confiscated a loaded pistol, 60 grams of methamphetamine, and around 1 gram of heroin.

Officers charged Levi Wells, a 29-year-old white male, and Barbara Lund, a 37-year-old white female with numerous trafficking methamphetamine charges, as well as heroin and firearm charges.

A convicted felon, Wells did not receive a bond, while Lund, also charged with trafficking methamphetamine in the past, received a $500,000 secured bond.

Six days later on Feb. 15, the vice and narcotics unit arrived at 108 Mishoe Rd., with a search warrant to investigate a 34-year-old Black male on suspicion of trafficking. Detectives recovered approximately 75.0 grams of methamphetamines, 50 Xanax pills, heroin, marijuana, and two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen from the Wilmington Police Department. The other gun had an altered serial number, which the sheriff’s crime lab is inspecting.

Jeremy Greene of Castle Hayne was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver, manufacture schedule II, possession of heroin, possession of firearm by a felon, and alter/remove permanent serial number. He is being held at New Hanover County Detention Facility under no bond.
