19-year-old Wilmington man arrested in connection to December shooting

WILMINGTON –– Wilmington police have made an arrest following an investigation into a late December murder.

Maleec Kwame Myers was taken into custody for his connection to the deadly shooting of Elijah Windham on Wednesday, Dec. 29. The alleged crime took place around Harbor and Flint drives. Windham, 21, was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and succumbed to his injuries.

Myers, 19, is charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held under no bond at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and made his first appearance at the New Hanover County Courthouse Tuesday morning.
