Surf City water advisory lifted

SURF CITY — A water advisory that went into effect on Tuesday has been rescinded, according to the Pender County Utilities.

An area in Surf City, near Watts Landing off Highway 210, experienced an outage after a main break was compromised when a private contractor drilled into it. Crews immediately responded to correct the break.

The drinking water has been tested and cleared of coliform bacteria, according to a release. Customers may use water without boiling.
