
WILMINGTON –– Expect road closures and traffic impacts in downtown Wilmington Sunday as the Christmas parade gets underway on Front Street.

The event starts around 6 p.m. and will last roughly an hour, between Brunswick Street and Castle Street.
At 2:30 p.m., the staging areas will close, including:
- North Front Street, between Brunswick and Walnut streets
- Hanover Street, between 2nd and Nutt streets
- Red Cross Street, between Water/Nutt Streets and 2nd Street
The following will close at 5 p.m. for the parade route:
- Front Street, between Walnut and Castle streets
- Market Street, between Water and Front
- Castle Street, between North Front and Surrey streets
- Church Street between North Front and Surrey streets
- Surrey Street, between Church and Castle
Parking meters are free on Sundays, and the flat rate at the Market Street and 2nd Street decks will be $2, for the parade, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Convention Center and Riverplace will charge their regular rates.
