NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A homicide investigation is underway for a Dec. 3 incident of a 24-year-old male who allegedly stabbed his stepfather.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office deputies were directed to the scene from 911 dispatch around 6 p.m. Friday. The woman who called the 911 operator, according to a press release, said she feared her brother was going to harm their stepdad.
When deputies arrived to 234 Jamaica Dr., they met Ryan Tambis at the door and noticed blood stained his hands. They saw a man, Raymond Hill, nearby on the floor who had a stab wound. The police detained 23-year-old Tambis and transported 78-year-old Hill to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Deputies took Tambis to the New Hanover County Detention Facility, charged him first degree murder and issued no bond.
