Wilmington police make arrest after 3-month drug investigation

WILMINGTON ​​— The Wilmington Police Department special investigation division has made an arrest following a three-month drug investigation.

Tyaan Murray, 22, was charged with three counts of fentanyl trafficking; sell and deliver Schedule II; PWIMSD Schedule II; maintaining a vehicle; possession of Schedule II; and a violation of a concealed carry permit, among other charges.

According to a report from WPD, detectives took Murray into custody Monday after a traffic stop, during which they seized 286 dosage units of fentanyl, 1.02 grams of cocaine and a gun.

Murray was booked into the New Hanover County Jail and is under a $510,000 secured bond.
