Comedian Ron White and Mannheim Steamroller matinee added to Wilson Center lineup

Wilson Center has added a matinee to the holiday rock show from Mannheim Steamroller, plus has standup comedian Ron White coming through in January.

WILMINGTON — From comedy to a holiday rock spectacular, Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College has added new shows to its roster.

On Jan. 8, 2022, the center will welcome the return of standup comedian Ron White. Known for his bit on Blue Collar Comedy Tour (BCCT), White began performing in 1985, opening for comedians Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy. He joined the BCCT in 2000 alongside Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy, with whom he toured through 270 cities. The tour grossed $35 million over three years and its album sold 14 million unites to date.

White focuses on real life, reminiscing about childhood life in a small town in Texas to becoming a national standup comedian. Tickets are on sale now for his January show and run $47 and up.

Also on sale currently is Nov. 28’s Mannheim Steamroller Christmas. The rock group brings electric riffs to holiday classics and has sold out its 7:30 p.m. concert. Wilson Center announced Monday it added a 3:30 p.m. matinee, with tickets starting at $51, on sale now.

Wilson Center follows state- and county-wide Covid-19 protocols.
