WILMINGTON — Local police detained a 31-year-old Tuesday evening for a gun charge after the suspect tried to flee from the officers on foot.
Joshua Sean Allen walked in front of an officer who was in the 700 block of S. 10th Street, when the Wilmington Police Department and New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Task Force Units approached a suspicious vehicle around 9:47 p.m. A press release noted that law enforcement recognized Allen from a recent shooting incident on Oct. 1.

For the breaking and entering incident, he is charged with:

Allen is being held in the NHCSO Detention Center without bond.
