Amazon Studios production to delay traffic in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH — Thursday, Sept. 9, Amazon Studios will be filming the production “The Summer I Turned Pretty” in Carolina Beach, in turn causing traffic delays for some.

The town sent out a notice saying the television series — based on the Jenny Han young adult romance novels — will affect travelers on Dow Road, between Ocean Boulevard south to Kure Beach. The road will be open, though drivers will experience intermittent traffic control from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Amazon production crews will be staging vehicles and equipment at Mike Chappell Park all day as well, so visitor parking will be limited, according to the town.

All questions can be directed to Tim Murphy at (910) 707-2064.
