Brunswick County mandates masks in county buildings

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Effective Thursday, Aug. 26, Brunswick County now requires employees and visitors to its government buildings to mask up. The mandate is in effect until further notice and affects only government buildings, as well as the courthouse.

County customers are reminded to conduct business online or virtually rather than in person whenever possible.

Though there is no countywide mask mandate in place in Brunswick at this time, the CDC recommends face coverings at indoor settings in areas reporting significant viral spread. Brunswick County ranks high, according to the agency, with 18.47% in positive tests. Over the last seven days there have been 679 new cases reported; vaccination rates top out at 60.9% for one dose and 49.5% for two.
